Easter Weekend Game Plan

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.   1 Peter 1:13

Early twentieth century French artist Georges Rouault made it his artistic ambition to provide for people a fresh view of Jesus.  By layering radiant colors and bold black lines, he brought biblical themes to life in his paintings and through his eye-opening images, expressed his intense faith in our living Savior.

Though highly trained and skilled in the pop art styles of his day, Rouault intentionally deviated from artistic norms to provide an unsullied perspective of Jesus.  Because of his courage to venture from the standard, his artistic expressions of Jesus’ life hang in museums alongside great artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Braque.

When asked why he was so obsessed with painting Jesus, his answer was profound in its simplicity; “My life’s goal is to paint a portrait of Christ so moving that whoever looks on it will be immediately converted!”

Can you resonate?  I do!  As a follower of Jesus, I have a growing aspiration to see PCC present a Biblical, relevant, clear, compelling, and irresistible portrait of Jesus. It is the impetus behind our current series, All Things New.

With the celebration of Easter this weekend, we have an amazing and unique opportunity to fulfill that ambition not just with one or two, ten or twenty, but hundreds of people far from God. People Jesus loves and longs to be in a relationship with.  In order to maximize the weekend, can I give you a game plan?

Gary’s Irresistible Easter Weekend Game Plan
  1. Pray daily for our Easter Experiences starting on Thursday Night and look for divine appointments to invite people to them.
  2. For adults and families, consider coming to the Family Worship Experience from 6-8pm on Thursday or 10am – 2pm on Friday.
  3. Plan on attending the Good Friday Worship Experience Friday Night at 7:00pm to calibrate your soul for the weekend.
  4. Park as far away from PCC as you can on Sunday, so as to leave the best parking spots for our hundreds of guests who will be joining us that day.
  5. Plan on not just attending Sunday, but looking to serve.  Be on the lookout for guests, and prepare to meet people and interact with them.
  6. Savor Jesus and the historical event that validates every claim He ever made and authenticates our faith.
I fully expect to see God move in remarkable ways in the coming days.  We need you to come with a humble servant’s attitude and not a consumer outlook.  If we all endeavor to, with our life and words, paint an irresistible portrait of Jesus, God only knows what we will experience together!

In addition to celebrating Easter and experiencing 30+ baptisms, we will also be introducing the PCC community to a wonderful new tool to help us stay connected to PCC and grow spiritually:  The PCC App!

I Love Being Your Pastor!
