Two Opportunities

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.   2 Timothy 2:2

God is always concerned about the succession of His church.  Churches that thrive understand this simple truth; we exist for the glory of God and for the good of others! I want to highlight two opportunities for us all to consider in this regard.

PCC Annual Meeting Sunday, May 18 at noon: The membership of PCC will gather as a body to review and rejoice over the year we had, and then to approve next year’s ministry funding plan as well as approve the slate of leaders stepping up to the Leadership Team come June.  We will provide pizza for kids and I can guarantee you will be encouraged by the reports of God’s faithfulness through this body. You will also discover our plans for the future of PCC and growing further into our mission while staying relevant to our community for years to come.

PCC Summer Interns: For almost two decades, PCC has welcomed up to 20 university students to our campus for a summer internship.  These are gifted leaders who sense a call to ministry and want to be trained in ministry to affirm that call. Having done this for two decades, many of us can attest to the win-win experience this has become.

Students win in the opportunity to integrate into the PCC DNA and invest a summer in community serving Christ.  Over the past 18 years, many students have gone into full time ministry sensing their call here at PCC.  Many others maintain a ministry mindset serving Jesus through their profession.  PCC has been the recipient of having a robust, gifted, and energized team of students come and give their lives in Children’s, Family, Student and Worship ministries for a summer.  You can learn more about the internship here. This internship is just one small way we are developing leaders for His church.

While there are many ways that you can be involved in the internship, our biggest need is housing! We intend to provide faith-stretching experiences for the leaders God entrusts us with; it is not our intention that part of that faith-stretching portfolio includes homelessness! Would you consider joining Anne and me in opening up a room for students this summer?

We have taken these students through an arduous application process and can attest to the fact that they are high caliber people.  Your provision of a room would be an incredible blessing and it is currently a tangible and great need.  If you have questions or can provide a room, please email Cheryl Mejia.

This weekend we continue in our Heaven series looking at the greatest aspect of heaven:  Jesus! Read up in Revelation 5, soak in its richness and I look forward to being together this Sunday!

I love being your pastor!
